Judith S. Kaye (1938-2016) made history as the first woman to serve as Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals, leading the state's highest court with clarity, compassion, and a deep belief in the rule of law.
She expanded access to justice, promoted civic education, and nurtured a judiciary that valued ethics and fairness; her legacy endures and she is laid to rest at Beth Olam Cemetery.
