Julius Wilkens

Biography

Julius Wilkens, born in 1812, applied his engineering talents to the advancement of infrastructure when Denmark was modernizing its roads, bridges, and public works. He approached each project with exacting standards, mindful of safety and long-term utility.

While he passed in 1892, the structural improvements he helped bring about contributed to the daily lives of countless citizens, testifying to an engineer's quiet dedication; he is laid to rest at Assistens Cemetery among colleagues who likewise shaped the nation's progress.
