Biography
Karel František Pitsch (1786–1858) stood among the composers of his era who sought to weave Bohemian character into sacred and secular music alike, offering listeners works of warmth and lyricism. His leadership in church and civic music brought serene choral and instrumental pieces to the people of Prague and beyond.
As a teacher, he encouraged young musicians to honor their heritage while pursuing technical excellence, and his thoughtful presence continued to be felt long after his burial at Olšany Cemetery.
