Biography
Karel Strakatý became a beloved actor and singer, best known for lending his voice to the first public performance of what would become the Czech national anthem. His interpretations on the stage of the Estates Theatre helped bring Czech drama and music to wider audiences during a time of growing cultural confidence.
As a performer he embodied the emerging patriotic spirit, and his memory is honored among the notable figures of Vyšehrad Cemetery.
