Karl G. Maeser

Biography

Karl G. Maeser (1828–1901) devoted his life to the service of education, guiding new generations with faith and a belief in disciplined learning as the founding leader of what became Brigham Young Academy.

Honored at Salt Lake City Cemetery, he remains a model for teachers and administrators who follow his example of combining intellect with deep moral purpose.
