Biography

Kate Pier (1845-1925) broke ground as one of the first women to practice law in Wisconsin, paving the way for future generations with courage and sharp intellect. She balanced a demanding career with devotion to her children and to civic causes, showing by example that determination knows no gender.

Even after retiring, she remained a teacher of justice, sharing her hard-won insights and reminding others that every barrier can be softened with patience and resolve.
