Biography

Kate Stoy (1823–1896) was admired for the way she tended to both household duties and neighborhood friendships, always ready with a listening ear or a gentle word. Her life spanned decades of rapid change and she adapted with patience while remaining deeply rooted in the Saint Clair neighborhood.

Those who shared tea with her recall her thoughtful presence, and she is buried at Saint Clair Cemetery where her memory is cherished.
