Katrina Hertzer
1873–1960 (age 87)
Biography
Katrina Hertzer devoted herself to nursing and humanitarian service, offering comfort to soldiers and their families during the upheaval of the early twentieth century and helping to spread the values of care and resilience that steadied so many in difficult times.
She carried that same compassion into later years, supporting training for the next generation of nurses and remaining a steadfast presence in the communities she served, a life of care now commemorated at Arlington National Cemetery.
