Kermit L. Hall was born in 1944 and became a renowned legal historian whose scholarship on constitutional law and civil liberties deepened the nation’s understanding of American democracy.
He later served as a university president, bringing academic rigor and a commitment to broader access to higher education, and his final years at the University of Tulsa concluded with interment at Arlington National Cemetery.
