L. John Nuttall was born in 1834, a time when Utah was still shaping its identity and communities were bound together by shared resolve. Through decades of change he remained a steady presence in the lives of those around him, balancing personal responsibilities with a deep affection for Provo and its people.

Even as he stepped through the closing years of the nineteenth century, his commitment to kindness and quiet service continued to inspire those who knew him, and he rests now in Provo City Cemetery among the generations he helped to steady.
