Biography
Lance Reventlow, heir to the Woolworth fortune, turned his energies toward the racetrack, overseeing the design and construction of the Scarab sports car to give American drivers a chance to compete on equal footing. His passion for speed was matched by a disciplined approach to engineering and team building.
He treated racing as both business and sport, never shying from innovation and encouraging crew and drivers to find their edge, leaving a lasting imprint on American motorsports before he was laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
