Biography

Lawrence Lewis Jr. arrived in 1857 as a hopeful youth emerging during a time of new possibilities for his community; he took pride in contributing through steady work and in encouraging younger neighbors to stay connected to the parish. His respectful demeanor and willingness to help with church efforts became part of the fabric of Saint James the Less.

Though his life ended too soon in 1890, the churchyard remembers him as someone who held fast to his values and fostered thoughtful companionship among those who knew him.
