Lewis C. Rockwell

Biography

Lewis C. Rockwell emerged as one of the Army’s first aviators, serving in the Aeronautical Division of the Signal Corps and championing the practical use of aircraft for observation and training.

He died while testing that new technology, and Arlington National Cemetery preserves his legacy as a pioneer who helped establish the foundations of Army aviation.
