Marine Corps Officer
Biography
Littleton Waller devoted more than four decades to the United States Marine Corps, earning the confidence of both sailors and soldiers while leading landing parties, expeditionary brigades, and Marine detachments ashore across the globe. From the Philippines to China and other outposts of American interest, he balanced the demands of combat, diplomacy, and training with a steady hand and a deep loyalty to the Corps.
In the years after active campaigns, he served as inspector general and mentor, sharing his experience with younger Marines, advocating for better equipment and education, and maintaining contact with the servicemen whose lives he had touched; his interment at Arlington National Cemetery stands as a reminder of his enduring commitment to military excellence.
