Biography
Lolita Lebrón dedicated her life to the cause of Puerto Rican independence, most famously taking part in the 1954 action at the U.S. House of Representatives to draw international attention to the island's struggle. Her courage and conviction made her a symbol for many who sought self-determination.
After spending years in incarceration she continued to advocate for independence and to inspire new generations of activists, and her remains rest at Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery, where many reflect on her unwavering courage.
