Biography

Lorenzo D. Collins spent his years in and around Albany, watching the city expand along the Hudson River as trade and transportation systems blossomed. He was respected as a thoughtful businessman who took time to mentor apprentices and to lend practical advice when neighbors faced hardship.

He was also known for his warmth toward families in his circle, celebrating births and mourning losses with equal tenderness, and encouraging civic involvement at the local church and school board. Such quiet, consistent care made his memory a comfort to many after his passing.
