Dr. Louis H. Bauer advanced aeromedical science, founding professional societies and establishing the medical standards that kept pilots healthy in the nation’s earliest air services.

He balanced military duty with civilian leadership, helping forge the partnerships that guided aviation medicine through war and peace, and rests now in Arlington.
