Biography
Louis Semple Clarke was a pioneering figure in the early American automobile industry and founder of the Autocar Company, which became one of the nation's significant vehicle manufacturers. His innovations and business acumen helped establish Pittsburgh as a center of automotive manufacturing and engineering.
Clarke was also a member of the South Fork Fishing and Hunting Club, an organization that brought together the region's most influential industrialists and business leaders.
