Biography

Lu Blue (1897–1958) was a gifted first baseman whose steady glove and consistent bat made him a mainstay of several major league teams, including the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox. Known for his work ethic and professionalism, he earned the respect of teammates and fans alike during a career that spanned more than a decade.

After retiring from playing, Blue shared his knowledge with younger players, helping to cultivate the next generation of ballplayers. He was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery, where his dedication to teamwork and perseverance are respectfully remembered.
