Lucinda Hinsdale Stone, born in 1814, was an educator and activist whose advocacy for learning and equal opportunity inspired many during a period when women’s voices were still finding their place.
Her tireless efforts to expand educational chances for young minds and to champion civic causes continue to be remembered, and Mountain Home Cemetery is now her place of rest.
