Biography

Ludolf Emil Hansen (1813–1875) was a bookseller whose profession placed him at an important crossroads of intellectual life and commerce during the nineteenth century. As a purveyor of books, he contributed to the dissemination of knowledge and literature throughout his community, serving as a custodian of the written word during a transformative era.

Hansen's career as a bookseller reflected both his education and his commitment to making literature accessible to others. He was laid to rest in Saint Odile cemetery following his death in 1875, leaving behind a legacy of service to the literary and intellectual community.
