Biography

Lydia Williams Lyman was born in 1839 and lived through the latter half of the nineteenth century, a period of significant American growth and change. She was interred at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a burial ground of great historical significance.

Her fifty-eight year life reflected the experiences of women during the post-Civil War era, and she remains honored at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
