Biography

Maksymilian Heilpern (1856–1924) was a respected member of the Warsaw Jewish community during a period of significant social and political transformation. His life reflected the experiences of Polish Jews in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

He was laid to rest at Okopowa Street Jewish Cemetery, one of the most important burial grounds of Warsaw's Jewish community. Heilpern's long life witnessed the industrialization of Poland and the emergence of the modern Polish state.
