Biography
Manfred Aschner brought his expertise in microbiology to bear on the challenges of a developing society, exploring tropical medicine and environmental health so that communities could thrive. He trained young scientists, established laboratories, and advocated for public health initiatives that placed science at the service of all citizens.
His mentorship and research left a durable imprint on the scientific institutions of the country, and those who followed in his footsteps remember him as a thoughtful investigator now laid to rest at Kinneret Cemetery.
