Marcellin Marbot

Biography

Marcellin Marbot (1782–1854) was a distinguished French military officer whose career spanned the Napoleonic Wars and the subsequent restoration period. He served with distinction in various campaigns and rose through the ranks to achieve prominence in the French army, earning recognition for his military acumen and leadership.

Following his military service, Marbot became known for his memoirs and writings about his experiences, which provided valuable historical accounts of the Napoleonic era. He spent his final years in Paris and was buried at Père Lachaise Cemetery, where he remains a notable figure in French military history.
