Biography
Marianne Cope (1838-1918), a sister of the Sisters of St. Francis, devoted her life to nursing the sick, leading hospitals in New York and later accompanying fellow sisters to care for individuals affected by Hansen's disease in Hawaii.
Her selfless leadership, compassionate care, and steadfast faith continue to inspire many, and her memory is honored at the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace.
