Biography
Marky Markowitz (1923–1986) was a gifted jazz trumpeter whose bright tone and steady swing supported big bands, television orchestras, and recording sessions for artists from Benny Goodman to Frank Sinatra.
Always generous with younger players, he carried the traditions of jazz into studio work, leaving Oak Hill Cemetery to honor a musician who never lost his love for improvisation.
