Mary Newbold Singer

Mary Newbold Singer (1801–1859) was a woman of considerable social standing in Philadelphia's prominent families, connected through marriage and kinship to influential merchant and professional classes of her era.

Her life reflected the refined society of early nineteenth-century Philadelphia, and she maintained important family connections that shaped the city's social fabric. She was laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
