Biography

Mason Carter, born in 1834, answered his country’s call to serve as a soldier, embracing the weight of duty that came with that rank. He upheld the ideals of honor and courage as he walked the line between service and sacrifice.

Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery is now the final chapter of his story, a fitting place of rest for one who once carried the nation’s cares into the field.
