Mathew Ector

Biography

Mathew Ector (1822–1879) was a military officer whose sense of duty guided him through the turbulent years of the mid-19th century. He met each challenge with resolve, seeking to uphold the principles that mattered most to him and to protect the people he called compatriots.

His grave at Greenwood Cemetery recalls a life defined by service and the quiet dignity with which he faced every trial.
