Biography
Matilde Moisant soared into history as one of the earliest women aviators in the United States, embracing the challenge of flight at a time when few women dared to do so. She helped pave the way for future generations of women to sit in the pilot’s seat.
Her daring spirit continues to inspire aviators at the Portal of the Folded Wings Shrine to Aviation, where her legacy rests alongside other pioneers of the sky.
