Maximilian Berlitz

Biography

Maximilian Berlitz, born in 1852, transformed the way languages are taught by founding the Berlitz School; he championed an immersive method that taught students to speak confidently from day one.

Through his work he opened doors between cultures, inspiring generations of learners whose journeys continue to echo his spirit of curiosity; he rests at Woodlawn Cemetery.
