Biography
Mel Farr, the 1966 Detroit Lions first-round pick, sprinted out of the University of Michigan into the NFL, where he was named the league's Offensive Rookie of the Year and later a two-time Pro Bowl selection, helping the Lions become a formidable ground attack.
After retiring, he translated his competitive drive into entrepreneurship with Farr Automotive and the National Auto Sales organization, creating jobs, mentoring young athletes, and championing scholarships for Detroit students.
