Mercy Shiverick Hatch (1773–1852) lived through the founding era of the United States and witnessed the early growth of the American republic. Her life encompassed nearly eight decades of change and development in New England society.

She was interred in Mount Auburn Cemetery, one of the most prestigious burial grounds in the nation, where her memory is preserved among other notable figures of her time.
