Biography
Michael Graves was a visionary architect whose playful yet rigorous postmodern landmarks, including the Portland Building and the Team Disney Building, reshaped the built environment while he guided a generation of designers through his studio and teaching at Princeton University.
He later turned private adversity into public advocacy after a spinal stroke left him using a wheelchair, championing universal design for hospitals, homes, and everyday products, and his thoughtful leadership left a lasting imprint on the campus and community as he rests at Princeton Cemetery.
