Michael S. Edmondson

Biography

Michael S. Edmondson was born in 1853 and came of age during the Reconstruction era, a time when his region was redefining itself after the Civil War. He dedicated himself to the work of strengthening the bonds of family and community in Springfield, embracing the era's industrial advances while keeping his roots firmly planted at home.

Although his daily endeavors went largely unrecorded, he is remembered by those who knew him for dependable friendship and a calm steadiness, and he now rests among fellow citizens at Woodlawn Cemetery.
