Biography
Mihail Svetšnikov was a Soviet military officer who served in the Red Army during its early development. Born in 1881, he was among the senior military figures who helped shape Soviet military institutions and strategy.
Svetšnikov was executed at the Kommunarka shooting ground in 1938 during the Great Purge. His death represented the loss of experienced military leadership during a period when Stalin sought to eliminate potential rivals and consolidate his control.
