Biography

Myers Y. Cooper built his career in business before answering the call to public service, serving as the 51st governor of Ohio from 1929 to 1931 as the nation entered the depths of the Depression.

He worked to steady the state's finances, support agricultural communities, and encourage civic improvements, and afterward remained involved with philanthropic causes that aimed to lift every citizen's prospects.
