N. G. Vavin was a Russian lawyer born in 1878 who practiced law during the turbulent years of Soviet transition. He maintained a legal career through the 1920s and 1930s.

Vavin was executed in 1939 at the Kommunarka shooting ground, a victim of the systematic purges that devastated the Soviet legal profession and claimed the lives of numerous accomplished jurists.
