Nahum Tschacbasov (1899-1984) was a Russian-born American painter who pursued expressionist and surrealist imagery, blending bold color with metaphysical themes and teaching at various art schools to share his passion.

He influenced students across New York and Florida with his demanding yet generous studio practices, and his work lives on while his remains rest at New Montefiore Cemetery.
