Biography
Nancy Cunard (1896–1965) used her gifts as a writer, editor, and patron of the arts to champion causes of racial equality, publishing the influential Negro anthology and supporting artists who had long been marginalized.
Her devotion to justice led her across the Atlantic, and she now rests at the Crématorium-columbarium du Père-Lachaise, where her courage to defy convention is still recalled fondly.
