Biography

Nathaniel G. S. Hart, born in 1784 in Detroit, was a military officer who rose to prominence during the War of 1812, commanding Kentucky militia in defense of the frontier. He displayed bravery and leadership, particularly during the ill-fated Battle of the River Raisin, where he was captured and tragically executed in 1813.
