Biography

Nathaniel Smith was a respected member of his community who lived through the transformative period of American independence and early national development. Born in 1762, he came of age during the Revolutionary War and contributed to the growth of his region during the early republic.

Smith's life concluded in 1822, and he was laid to rest in South Cemetery. His years spanned a crucial chapter in American history, from colonial times through the establishment of the new nation.
