Biography

Ogden Goelet (1851-1897) built on his family heritage to become one of New York’s most prominent merchants and developers, helping to shape the city’s growth through thoughtful investments and a commitment to civic improvement.

He and his family supported the arts, education, and charitable causes, and his remains rest in Woodlawn Cemetery where his sincere interest in the welfare of the metropolis is still recalled.
