Biography

Oldřich Jelínek was born in 1924 and came of age during the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia. His youth was consumed by war, occupation, and the existential struggle for survival and freedom during one of history's darkest chapters.

Jelínek died in 1945 at the young age of 21, his life claimed by the conflict that engulfed Europe. He was laid to rest in the National Cemetery in Terezín, remembered as one of the many young people whose futures were stolen by World War II.
