Biography

Oliver Evans was a pioneering inventor whose innovations in steam power and automated machinery helped drive the Industrial Revolution in America. His mechanical genius and entrepreneurial spirit led to numerous patents and improvements that transformed manufacturing processes and contributed to American industrial development.

Evans' inventive mind produced solutions that advanced multiple industries, from milling to transportation. Though he died in 1819 at the age of 64, his contributions to American technology and industry had a lasting impact. He was interred at Trinity Church Cemetery and Mausoleum, a testament to the respect he earned during his lifetime.
