Orange Judd (1822–1892) championed scientific farming through publishing, striving to share practical knowledge with rural readers so they could flourish in an age of change.

He believed that education and innovation would strengthen both families and the economy, and his advocacy continues to inspire those who visit him at Flushing Cemetery.
