Ossian M. Ross grew up as part of the westward movement and earned a reputation as a pioneer leader, helping to lay the foundations of settlements where hardworking families could put down roots.

He died in 1837 and was interred at Oak Hill Cemetery, remembered as a builder of communities who nurtured the hopes of countless settlers.
