Biography
Patriarch Joachim II of Constantinople (1802–1878) was a spiritual leader of the Orthodox Christian community who served as Patriarch during a transformative period in Ottoman history. His ecclesiastical leadership guided the Christian faithful through significant social and political changes.
Joachim II's tenure as Patriarch reflected his commitment to the spiritual welfare of his congregation and the preservation of Orthodox Christian traditions. He was interred in the Church of St. Mary of the Spring, a sacred site of Christian devotion in Constantinople.
