Per Axel Rydberg

Biography

Per Axel Rydberg (1860-1931) immigrated from Sweden to become one of America's most prolific botanists, cataloguing the flora of the Rocky Mountains and publishing authoritative works such as the Flora of Colorado.

He served as curator, educator, and tireless field researcher, championing collections that continue to inform botanists, and he rests now at Woodlawn Cemetery, where the botanical precision he pursued is honored.
